YZU Art & Design Launches “ADYZU 24HR OPEN” Blueprint Workshop and Group Portrait Project
The Department of Art and Design at Yuan Ze University held the “ADYZU 24HR OPEN” workshop, inviting artist Yu-Ting Lin as the instructor. She led faculty and students in using blueprint techniques to complete the “Group Portrait Project.” The event brought together the university president, deans, and all department members to create a collective portrait of the department within a 24-hour timeframe. Centered around the theme “WHO’S ADYZU,” the workshop integrated portraits with blueprint techniques, connecting participants across different academic years and disciplines. The result showcased the department’s diverse and collaborative spirit. Inspired by blueprint artworks of students, the department aimed to expand materials and modes of thinking and expression while creating through this initiative.
Yu-Ting Lin holds a Ph.D. from the Graduate Institute of Art Creation and Theory at Tainan National University of the Arts. Her work explores themes of housing, architecture, and the relationship between people and space. Her artworks have been exhibited and collected by major art institutions. Since 2009, Lin has developed a series of projects such as “Cake House,” “Residential Graphics,” and “Let’s Open” using a variety of media to reinterpret and layer imaginings of the home. In recent years, she has collaborated with schools and art institutions on co-creative projects. In 2024, her work at the exhibition “Field Notes: Dialogues Between Viewers, Custodians, and Space” in Tainan Cultural Center used blueprint techniques to uncover stories of exhibition spaces. She has also collaborated with the Taoyuan Museum of Fine Arts, showcasing her versatile artistic practice.
This workshop not only strengthened communication between faculty and students but also demonstrated the department’s commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and artistic experimentation—making the unique group identity of ADYZU visible.
